FAQ

What is a Discovery Bible Study (DBS)?

A group study method initiated within natural networks, led by an insider, where spiritually interested people explore God's will and support each other in immediate obedience. The group discusses a Bible passage through four questions: "What does it say?" "What does it mean?" "What will I do?" and "Who can I tell?" This process emphasizes personal discovery and listening to the Holy Spirit and aims for self-replicating groups. See video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI0M7Ndkx8I

What are Disciple Making Movements?

Disciple Making Movements (DMMs): Initiatives that focus on creating and multiplying disciples of Jesus through simple, reproducible methods. These movements prioritize the training of ordinary believers to share their faith, make disciples, and form new groups that continue the process. The goal is to foster exponential growth of disciples and disciple-making groups within natural social networks, leading to widespread spiritual transformation in communities. DMMs emphasize obedience to Jesus’ teachings, empowering local leadership, and ensuring every disciple is equipped to disciple others, aiming for a sustainable and scalable impact. What is the strategy of the Mali Vineyard Partnership?

The goal of the Vineyard Mali Partnership is to start Church Planting Movements (CPMs) throughout Mail and eventually West Africa. We use a Disciple Making Movement (DMM) strategy to accomplish this goal. The partners inside and outside of the country meet regularly both on zoom and in person to strategize and develop plans. We train indigenous leaders on DMM methodology as well as Vineyard theology, values and practices.

WHAT IS A PEOPLE GROUP?

A people group is a distinct ethnic, linguistic, or cultural group that shares common characteristics such as language, culture, and social identity. These groups often perceive themselves as a distinct community and are recognized as such by others.

WHY ARE THEY UNREACHED?

A people group is considered unreached (UPG) when there is no indigenous community of believing Christians able to engage this people group with church planting. Technically speaking, the percentage of evangelical Christians in this people group is less than 2 percent.
